Pele the legend footballer in Brazil. He was three Brazilian World Cup-champion teams member considered by many to be the greatest soccer player of all time.

Born on October 23, 1940, in Tres Coracoes, Brazil. Pele became a superstar with his performance in the 1958 World Cup. He played professionally in Brazil for two decades. In his life time he won three world cups. FIFA co-Player of the Century in 1999, he is a global ambassador for soccer.

Childhood Memories of this legendary player

He is  the first child of Joao Ramos and Dona Celeste. Born on October 23, 1940. his nickname was Dico. In a young age pele moved with his family to the city of Bauru.

His father Ramos knows struggled to earn living as a footballer. For this reason Pele grew up in  poverty.  Still he made himself a great footballer.

Pele the nickname, origin is unclear. Maybe Pele name given by his friends.

An adolescent Pele joined a youth squad coached by Waldemar de Brito. He got chance Santos professional soccer club when he was 15.

Golden National team performance in World Cup

The world officially introduced to him in the 1958 World Cup. It was  in Sweden. Displaying remarkable speed  athleticism and field vision. This time he was only 17 years old. He score three goals in a 5-2 semifinal win over France.  Two more in the finals, a 5-2 win over the host country.

Pele The Legend Lives On

In 1978 he was awarded the International Peace Award.  He work with UNICEF. Pele also served as Brazil’s Extraordinary Minister for Sport and  United Nations ambassador for ecology and the environment

Pele was named FIFA’s “Co-Player of the Century” in 1999.  To many, his accomplishments on the soccer field will never be equaled.
